Full Time, Salary Range: $75000.00 - $100000.00

Salary/year, Job Shift: Day, This position is eligible for an additional bonus of $2,000, subject to applicable eligibility requirements and continued employment. Bonus terms and payment schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

The Estimator is responsible for coordinating all quotations from start to finish. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing project specifications and preparing accurate and comprehensive estimates for manufacturing or engineering projects at the best price and lead time using the customer’s requirements as a guide. The Estimator will work closely with program managers, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure that projects are completed within budget and in a timely manner.

They will process requests for quotes and assist management with risk analysis.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identifies and computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
  • Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Presents prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains cost database by entering and backing up data.
  • Continually updates technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
  • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates and proposals.
  • Communicate with project managers, engineers and customer’s to clarify project requirements and ensure that estimates meet the customer’s needs.
  • Collaborate with the project team to identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and availability of materials and services.
  • Monitor and track project costs throughout the project lifecycle, and provide regular cost reports to the project team.
  • Participate in project meetings and presentations.
  • Adheres to all company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain customer and MASS Quality requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to the department’s team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications:

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
  • 3-5 years’ experience estimating in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in ERP system technology, Epicor knowledge preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Strong organizational, analytical skills, and attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in value engineering and cost-saving strategies.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with budgeting and project management.
  • Understanding of manufacturing documents.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Knowledge of CAD software
  • Requires some working knowledge of costs of painting, plating, silk-screening, and other common machining and/or sheet metal services.
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication techniques and methods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at the appropriate level across the organization.
  • Proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Ability to commit to a flexible schedule and prompt arrival to scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions
  • Ability to be cross trained in other departments to help with unexpectedly high demands.
  • Required to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Required to wear PPE when in the production area
