Cost Accountant
Millennium Soft Inc – San Jose, CA
Duration: 12‑month contract, 40 hrs/week, 1st shift
This role provides Financial and Accounting support for the Instrument Operations organization of client Biosciences. It includes developing, interpreting and implementing financial concepts for planning and control, supporting the annual budget process, manufacturing variances, inventory, capital and budget allocations, and performing financial analysis as needed to guide business decisions.
Responsibilities- Responsible for PPV detailed reporting, supporting BST meetings associated with Engineering Projects, and partnering with Sourcing and Cost to Win teams to assist in PPV tracking and analysis.
- Supports the company’s annual budget and quarterly forecasting processes (headcount, spending, manufacturing variances, capital expenditures, and inventory).
- Assists in inventory management activities (excess/obsolete analysis, cycle count audits, monthly inventory reporting).
- Supports month‑end close process and preparation of Ops Package and monthly Finance Reporting Package.
- Supports costing of new parts and products and other standard costing activities.
- Reviews, monitors and understands work order variances.
- Keeps abreast of compliance requirements in own area of work and ensures compliance.
- Participates in training on regulatory issues affecting own area of work.
- Brings regulatory compliance questions/issues to management.
- BA/BS in Accounting or Finance plus 3‑5 years related experience, or equivalent education and experience.
- Understanding of cost accounting principles, including standard costing and inventory management.
- Financial Planning & Analysis experience preferred but not required.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
