Company OverviewWe are working with a hypergrowth interactive entertainment and gaming technology company to add a Director of FP&A to their team. Backed by top-tier venture firms and prominent gaming industry executives, the company has raised over $200M+ in funding, scaled to over $150M in annual revenue, and expanded internationally.
Role OverviewThe Director of FP&A is a high-visibility leadership role with direct exposure to C-suite and executive stakeholders. Serving as the senior financial leader and strategic partner to the hardware and core consumer business, you will own the financial narrative, build and mentor a high-performing team, and drive decisions across retail, e-commerce, international expansion, supply chain efficiency, and marketing-driven customer acquisition.
The ideal candidate combines rigorous financial and analytical judgment with the business instincts to directly influence cross-functional decisions across commercial, operations, and marketing organizations.
What You’ll Do- Sales & Commercial Growth: Own the financial planning, analysis, and forecasting underpinning hardware sales performance across retail, direct-to-consumer (DTC) e-commerce, and commercial channels.
- International Expansion: Lead the financial evaluation and case-building for new market entries, including market sizing, pricing, localization economics, and country-level P&L modeling. Partner with regional commercial leads to evaluate go-to-market strategies (direct, distributor, retail partnerships), set up performance reporting, and navigate tariffs, currency, and regulatory factors.
- Supply Chain & Manufacturing Optimization: Partner closely with supply chain, procurement, and manufacturing operations to identify and quantify cost-reduction opportunities across bill of materials (BOM), contract manufacturing terms, freight, logistics, and inventory carrying costs. Build models for sourcing decisions, capacity planning, and make-vs-buy trade-offs to drive gross margin expansion.
- Marketing Efficiency & Customer Acquisition: Serve as the strategic finance partner to the marketing organization. Build models and dashboards measuring marketing efficiency (CAC, payback period, LTV, ROAS, marketing-attributed unit sales) across paid, retail co-marketing, and brand campaigns to optimize marketing mix and budget allocation.
- Leadership & Cross-Functional Influence: Build, mentor, and manage a team of finance managers/analysts. Represent finance in business reviews and strategic planning, bringing an independent, data-driven perspective to shape executive decisions.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, management consulting, or corporate finance, with meaningful exposure to consumer hardware, consumer electronics, or physical goods/retail businesses.
- Demonstrated track record as a proactive business partner to sales, marketing, and supply chain/operations teams—driving strategic decisions rather than just reporting past results.
- Advanced financial modeling expertise across unit economics, channel-level P&Ls, and cost/margin bridge analyses.
- Strong experience with marketing performance metrics (CAC, LTV, ROAS, payback period) and their relationship to revenue generation.
- Experience analyzing international market expansion economics (multi-currency modeling, market entry, global P&Ls) and/or supply chain and manufacturing cost structures.
- Proven track record of managing, developing, and mentoring finance professionals.
- Strong executive presence with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced Excel skills required; experience with BI tools…
