Dayton Children's South Campus Pharmacy is a unique pharmacy setting, offering both hospital and retail pharmacy services. The pharmacy technician assists the pharmacist with the preparation of medications for dispensing. The technician performs various technical and supportive tasks necessary to provide pharmacy services. The pharmacy technician works under supervision of the pharmacist, and focuses on accurate medication preparation following established policy and procedures set forth by the Pharmacy Department.
They understand the role of the pharmacist in verification of all preparations prior to dispensing to the patient care areas. The technician meets the requirements of being “qualified pharmacy technician” as established by the State Board of Pharmacy, and holds a pharmacy technician certification from a State Board of Pharmacy accredited agency. The technician adheres to all regulations as established by the State Board of Pharmacy.
