Your Impact

As a Senior Engineering Manager you will guide architecture, project execution and talent development, ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable solutions and fostering a high‑performing environment. You will build highly reliable and scalable services and design innovative full‑stack technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own product areas and lead the development effort for multiple components.
  • Provide expert technical guidance on infrastructure, manageability and distributed systems design and implementation.
  • Lead architecture discussions, conduct code reviews, and guide team members to deliver high‑quality solutions.
  • Own project deliverables, manage schedules and track progress to ensure timely execution.
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, including development, product management and security.
  • Significantly invest in AI‑based engineering and test practices to achieve high productivity gains.
  • Embody and promote Cisco’s culture and values as a role model.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
  • 15+ years of experience in embedded software development using Java, Go and Python.
  • 5+ years leading a globally distributed engineering team of 30 people or more.
  • 10+ years in systems/platform/infra engineering; 3+ years operating Kubernetes in production at meaningful scale.
  • Hands‑on Kubernetes expertise (cluster operations, custom resources/controllers, networking/storage/ingress patterns).
  • Proficiency in systems programming and Golang, Java, Python.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code concepts and declarative configuration management.
  • Security mindset: access controls, workload isolation and vulnerability reduction.
  • Hands‑on experience with API management tools, API gateways and identity and access management protocols.
  • Experience in both cloud and on‑prem environments.
  • Clear communication and demonstrated end‑to‑end technical leadership.
  • Ability to demonstrate hands‑on coding skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Full‑stack application development and user experience design.
  • Strong skills in performance tuning and optimization.

& Benefits

Starting salary range for this position is $ to $, reflecting the projected salary range for new hires in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including incentive compensation, equity or benefits. Additional benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with Cisco matching contribution, paid parental leave, short‑ and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, and potential equity awards. Employees are eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco’s policies.

U.S. employees are offered 10 paid holidays per full calendar year plus one floating holiday, personal wellness days, 16 days of paid vacation and flexible vacation time for exempt employees. Paid sick time, parental leave and optional volunteer days are also provided.
