The challenge

Adobe is seeking a UNIX Administrator with excellent technical, process and automation skills to be part of the High‑Performance Cloud Operations Team. As an Infrastructure Administrator, this person is responsible for the daily administration of Linux and Unix servers in a business application environment. This includes general system administration tasks, software and hardware support, system configuration, and system monitoring. The role requires excellent Linux/Unix administration experience, customer‑relation skills, and the ability to work with business application administrators, helping solve their applications and guide them with standard methodologies.

The candidate must be able to express thoughts clearly and work in a team or as a sole contributor. The individual should be self‑motivated with very good communication skills and will be responsible for the overall operability, resiliency, performance, and capacity of owned production services.

What you'll do
  • System Administration – Responsible for day‑to‑day administration of all Linux‑based servers, monitoring the trouble ticket queue, troubleshooting, hardware and software changes, scripting, patching, performance monitoring, sizing, integration, upgrade implementation, hardware diagnostics and on‑call support.
  • Application support – Work with application administrators to help fix and fine‑tune applications and guide them in standard processes related to using the underlying UNIX infrastructure.
  • Documentation – Maintain all system documentation.
What is needed to succeed
  • Excellent hands‑on experience with RHEL/CentOS/SUSE including LVM configuration and management, Kickstart/Jumpstart, Yum/Satellite, networking, etc.
  • Strong scripting skills – shell or Python for automation.
  • Demonstrable ability to perform UNIX builds such as RHEL and SUSE.
  • Knowledge of VMware vCenter, system imaging, TCP/IP functionality, networking, remote administration systems (iLOM, iLO or iDRAC).
  • HP & Dell rack‑mount server hardware knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work individually or within a team.
  • Knowledge of AIX and configuration management tools such as Salt Stack, Chef or Ansible is a plus.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $155,200 – $289,900 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. In California, the pay range for this position is $200,200 – $289,900.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short‑term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non‑sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short‑term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP). In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long‑term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
