Product Designer; Messaging - UX; San Jose

Responsibilities

• Design consumer-facing products at Tik Tok that impact hundreds of millions of users globally, with a focus on instant messaging and social interaction experiences.
• Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to evolve early product ideas into well-defined concepts and scalable design solutions that meet real user needs.
• Take end-to-end ownership of high-impact design projects, from concept exploration through detailed UI design and final delivery.
• Deeply engage with and use the product to build a strong understanding of user behavior and business context; proactively identify opportunities through data analysis and user research, and translate insights into actionable design outcomes.
• Drive product innovation by advocating for user-centered design principles and continuously raising the bar for design quality.

• 1+ years of experience designing consumer-facing digital products in an internet or technology-driven environment.
• Strong end-to-end product design skills, with a solid foundation in UX, UI, and product thinking, as well as comfort working with data to inform decisions.
• High level of ownership and self-motivation, with a demonstrated ability to learn quickly, reflect, and continuously improve through iteration.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; positive, resilient, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Passion for product design and curiosity about emerging technologies and user behaviors
• Experience designing for web platforms.
• Hands-on experience with user research, usability testing, or experimentation.
• Motion design or interaction animation skills.
• Experience with data analysis or metrics-driven design.
• Familiarity with technical implementation and engineering constraints.

Compensation Description (Annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $115200 - $255867 annually.
