Akkodis is seeking a Technical Architect for a Contract with a client in San Jose, CA/Scottsdale, AZ
. You will own and analyze the Oracle Exadata environment to ensure accurate migration and preserve critical system behaviors.
Rate Range: $49/hour to $64/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
- Own the source-of-truth for the Oracle Exadata estate, analyzing schemas across RAC, PDBs, and sharded/partitioned tables; interpret triggers, sequences, materialized views, and PL/SQL frameworks to document implicit application dependencies.
- Extract and codify SQL & transaction semantics by analyzing AWR/ASH and SQL Monitor data to determine real transaction boundaries, locking assumptions, concurrency behavior, and Oracle-specific constructs that cannot be directly replicated.
- Build an Oracle feature dependency matrix (PL/SQL, hints, optimizer behavior, isolation-level dependencies) and classify items as safe-to-migrate, requires redesign, or requires application change.
- Establish baseline authority by defining golden data sets and expected outcomes; validate test harness outputs against Oracle baselines to ensure semantic correctness during migration.
- Advise target-platform architects on semantic traps, hidden coupling, and non-obvious Oracle behaviors applications implicitly depend on, ensuring accurate translation into neutral architectural concepts.
- Deliver migration-critical artifacts, including the Oracle behavior reference model, SQL signature catalog, feature dependency report, and risk classifications to guide program governance and technical decision‑making.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 12+ years of deep Oracle experience, including Exadata internals and large‑scale database environments.
- Expertise in PL/SQL frameworks, AWR/ASH analysis, and SQL tuning at scale.
- Proven ability to translate Oracle‑specific semantics into neutral architectural concepts for migration projects.
