Supermicro IT is seeking a Staff Solution Architect - Network to define scalable, resilient, secure, and AI-ready network architectures across data centers, campuses, global interconnectivity, and hybrid cloud environments. The role owns network solution architecture, HLD/LLD, reference designs, standards, and technical direction for traditional enterprise networks and high-density GPU/AI infrastructure from kW-scale deployments through MW-scale environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Own network solution architecture and technical design for data center, AI/GPU infrastructure, campus, global WAN, hybrid cloud, and interconnectivity environments.
- Develop HLDs, LLDs, reference architectures, topology diagrams, routing/IP designs, implementation standards, and technical decision documentation.
- Architect data center spine-leaf fabrics using BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, ECMP, segmentation, high availability, and high-speed 100G/400G/800G connectivity as applicable.
- Design AI/GPU network fabrics from kW to MW scale by translating rack/GPU counts, bandwidth, port density, over subscription, redundancy, and growth requirements into scalable network designs.
- Define East-West and North-South traffic architectures supporting GPU/compute, storage, applications, management, Internet edge, and external connectivity.
- Design rack networking, ToR/leaf connectivity, OOB management, fiber/cabling, uplinks, redundancy, and integration with GPU/compute systems.
- Architect data center interconnectivity, DR, global WAN, and hybrid-cloud solutions across data centers, colocation sites, campuses, and cloud using MPLS, SD-WAN, DIA, VPN, and carrier services.
- Define network security architecture including firewall zones, segmentation, secure Internet edge, VPN/remote access, access controls, and resilient firewall designs.
- Develop campus architectures covering core/distribution/access, wired and wireless networks, IDF/MDF, fiber backbone, Internet connectivity, segmentation, and high availability.
- Define network observability, NOC operational requirements, SLA/KPI measurements, DR/failover requirements, and controls supporting SOX and related audit processes.
- Perform architecture gap assessments for capacity, resiliency, performance, security, and technology lifecycle; develop target-state designs and remediation roadmaps.
- Develop network standards, SOPs, policies, procedures, deployment templates, and architecture documentation; collaborate across engineering, operations, security, cloud, facilities, vendors, and business teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
- 12+ years of network architecture or engineering experience with strong data center and enterprise network design expertise.
- Deep knowledge of BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, ECMP, spine-leaf architecture, routing/switching, segmentation, high availability, and data center interconnectivity.
- Strong experience with firewalls, VPN, WAN, MPLS/SD-WAN, DIA, campus wired/wireless, fiber, and hybrid-cloud…
