A Day in the Life You arrive to a clean, organized cell and pull up the day’s queue. First up: a complex, tight-tolerance part bound for a critical application. You study the blueprint and GD&T callouts, translate the design into an efficient machining program, and complete a meticulous setup on a CNC Swiss lathe (Citizen). Your first-article run confirms geometric accuracy;

you fine-tune offsets to tighten cycle time without sacrificing quality. Throughout the shift, you monitor machine performance, proactively make adjustments, document production results, and coordinate with engineering and quality to improve yields. Preventative maintenance keeps downtime low, and safety best practices keep your area inspection-ready. Before you clock out, you hand off detailed technical status updates and log entries to keep production seamless.

What You’ll Tackle Execute advanced setups and operate Swiss-style CNC lathes to produce high-precision components to tight tolerances.

Interpret blueprints and technical schematics; convert requirements into efficient machining programs.

Optimize throughput by monitoring machine performance and proactively adjusting tool and wear offsets.

Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot issues to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.

Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to refine processes and elevate product yield.

Maintain a safe, orderly work area that aligns with industrial safety standards.

Keep accurate production records and provide clear technical updates to leadership.

What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent.

Proven skill in setting up and running Swiss screw machines.

Solid understanding of machining fundamentals, cutting tools, and material behavior.

Advanced ability to read complex technical drawings and interpret GD&T.Hands-on expertise with precision metrology: micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.

Preferred Experience with Citizen Swiss machines.
