Description

The Team Lead will work with Silicon Valley Rising Action to coordinate and manage phone banking and door-to-door canvassing teams who will be listening to voters, educating them on the upcoming election, and inviting them to join our membership lists and connect with future opportunities for education and action in their districts .

DAILY ACTIVITIE

  • This position will be a mix of working in the field and at the office (North San Jose)
  • Train and supervise a team of 6-10 canvassers
  • Develop a clear understanding of the issues we are engaging voters about
  • Work with Organizing Lead to develop supporter engagement opportunities
  • Reach daily and weekly benchmark goals for the number of voters contacted and supporters identified
  • Ensure all data is submitted in a timely fashion and submit daily reports

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be available from September 22, 2025 through November 4, 2025, and attend all mandatory trainings, with the potential for ongoing follow-up work throughout the fall
  • Must have strong verbal communication skills as well as ability to connect with diverse people
  • Must arrive on the correct date, time and location during designated time, including reliable transportation to get to our office.
  • Must be able to read a street map, and feel confident talking to voters on the phone and going door to door
  • Must have strong commitment to social and racial justice

  • Sit, bend, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Lift approximately 20-25 lbs. on occasion.
  • Stand and move throughout the office.
  • Have consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Work under pressure with changing, ambiguous priorities.
  • Communicate effectively and promptly to clients or employees of the organization.
  • Climb stairs and steps.
  • High level of manual dexterity to adeptly type and use computer equipment.
  • Auditory and visual skills – Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Follow written and oral instructions and procedures

PREFERRED

  • Prior experience as a supervisor
  • A driver’s license, proof of insurance, and access to a car is strongly preferred. Reliable transportation is required.

SCHEDULE, WAGES, LOCATION

  • This is a temporary, full-time, non-exempt position. This position ends November 7th.
  • $33/hour wage
  • Team Members who use a personal vehicle for the position will be reimbursed for mileage according to the federal mileage reimbursement rate. Options for transit reimbursement may be available.
  • Our office is located at 2302 Zanker Road, San Jose
