- Shift: 12-hour days (07:00 AM – 07:30 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2410 – $2580 per week
- Minimum 1 year of recent (within the last 3 years) full-time postpartum nursing experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Active California Registered Nurse License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Proficient in electronic fetal monitoring and adult cardiac monitoring
- IV insertion skills and lab draw experience
- Knowledge of high-risk medication administration (Magnesium, Oxytocin, Insulin)
- Ability to perform urine point of care testing and capillary blood glucose testing
- Experience with IStat, newborn monitors, pulse oximetry, and cardiac monitoring
- Ability to perform heel sticks/venipuncture on newborns
- Knowledge of newborn medication administration (IV and maintenance)
- Experience with Bili-blankets/lights and radiant warmers
- Support for gynecological teaching and post-operative bladder training
- Ability to provide maternal-newborn education and support
- Preferred:
Bachelors degree in nursing or related field; 3 years of labor and delivery and/or postpartum experience; 1 year of medical/surgical nursing experience; ACLS certification
- Deliver comprehensive postpartum care to mothers and newborns, ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Monitor and assess maternal and newborn conditions, intervening as needed
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, including high-risk medications
- Perform and interpret electronic fetal and adult cardiac monitoring
- Conduct lab draws, IV insertions, and point of care testing
- Educate patients and families on postpartum care, newborn care, and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital policies
