B&Z Manufacturing Company Inc is looking for a detail-oriented Machine Shop Inspector to join our team in San Jose, CA. This is a critical role where your precision and expertise will ensure our manufactured parts and components meet the highest quality standards. Responsibilities:- Inspect machined parts and components for dimensional accuracy using precision measuring instruments
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on machined parts per engineering drawings and specifications
- Utilize tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM equipment to verify tolerances
- Document inspection results, maintain quality records, and generate non-conformance reports (NCRs)
- Collaborate with machinists and production teams to identify and resolve quality issues
- Interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and engineering blueprints
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve production quality
- 2+ years of experience in quality inspection within a machine shop or manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and height gauges
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols
- Experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operation is a plus
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality management systems preferred
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training preferred
- Zeiss CMM experiance a plus.
