Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to lead technology research efforts focused on the development of novel molecular assays.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on molecular biologist to apply deep technical expertise in a dynamic, fast‑growing biotechnology company.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior scientific staff and cross‑functional R&D teams to drive experimental design, execution, and data interpretation in support of innovative assay development.
Responsibilities
- Propose, design, and execute experimental studies to advance new molecular assay technologies under senior scientific staff guidance
- Analyze and interpret experimental data with strong scientific rigor and critical thinking
- Prepare and present research findings to management and the broader R&D organization
- Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional R&D teams to support project execution and development timelines
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and compliant experimental documentation through high‑quality laboratory notebooks and data records
- Manage multiple priorities with flexibility to meet time‑sensitive project milestones and organizational objectives
- Stay current with scientific literature, emerging technologies, and advances in the field
- Contribute to intellectual property development, including invention disclosures and patent filings
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology or a related field with 1–2 years of post‑doctoral or industry experience, or M.S. in Molecular Biology or a related field with 7+ years of relevant industry experience
- Strong creative thinking and problem‑solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail
- Self‑motivated, results‑driven, and capable of independently driving projects forward
- Solid foundation and broad knowledge in molecular biology and genomics
- Hands‑on experience with next‑generation sequencing technologies, with a strong preference for epigenetics‑based assays or analyses
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, cross‑disciplinary environment
