Job Description As a Security Guard - Unarmed Telecom Patrols in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Part‑Time Security Officer you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within a dynamic technology‑focused location.

Your presence helps to deter security‑related incidents while you conduct routine patrols and provide outstanding customer service to all visitors and staff.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $21.60 / Hour

Job Schedule: Mon 12:00 AM – 08:00 AM;
Sun 12:00 AM – 08:00 AM

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Observe and report any irregularities, such as security breaches, facility hazards, and emergency situations.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and staff while maintaining a visible Allied Universal presence.
• Assist with controlling access to the premises and verifying identification as required by site policies.
• Document incidents and/or unusual occurrences according to established procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 6 months of security‑related experience (preferred).
• Guard card or license (preferred).
• State, county, or city‑issued security license (preferred).
• Comfort using a computer or tablet (preferred).
• Customer service experience (preferred).
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Holds a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required as per federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories consistent with applicable laws.
• Drug screen required to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
