AV Service Technician - Crestron; Silicon Valley

Job Overview

TEKsystems is seeking an AV Service Engineer to provide in‑person troubleshooting of audio‑video systems in executive board rooms and conference centers throughout the Silicon Valley area. The successful candidate will work from home and travel to client sites as needed. The role requires strong technical expertise with major AV brands and excellent customer‑facing skills.

• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues with Crestron, Biamp, Extron, QSC, Cisco, Poly, Logitech, Luxul, Netgear, and other AV equipment.
• Reverse engineer legacy AV systems and debug newly built installations.
• Test and maintain systems using multimeter, perform cable splicing, crimping, and soldering.
• Conduct preventative maintenance testing, site surveys for service agreement quotes, and write concise service reports.
• Lead and mentor junior or intermediate field service technicians.
• Manage multiple service projects and interface regularly with enterprise customers.
• Stand, kneel, crouch, climb ladders and scaffolding, and lift in excess of 50 pounds as required.

• Minimum 7–8 years of AV integration or field service experience.
• Proficiency with Crestron DM/NVX, AMX, Extron, Biamp, QSC, Cisco, Poly, Logitech, Luxul, Netgear, Planar, Unilumen, LG, Samsung, Barco.
• Intermediate to advanced AV networking skills and knowledge of low‑voltage electrical concepts (Ohm’s Law).
• 2‑year diploma from a technical college or equivalent experience.
• CTS certification highly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• 3 years minimum field service experience.
• Technology:
  Audiovisual, Cat6, Audio, Service, Video conferencing, Installation.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license and able to perform physical demands as listed.

Contract position based in San Jose, CA. This is a hybrid role (remote and on‑site).

Pay range: $40.00 – $55.00 per hour.
