Position:
Field Mechanic – San Jose, CA. The Field Mechanic travels to job sites throughout California to diagnose and repair heavy equipment, fleet trucks, and related systems. Companies provide a service truck and specialized tools; applicants must bring basic tools of their own. Pay ranges from $40‑$60 per hour, DOE.

• Inspect, maintain, and repair heavy equipment.
• Travel to job sites all around California.
• Perform engine, hydraulic, air brake, transmission, HVAC, and electrical repairs.
• Perform safety inspections.
• Conduct oil changes as needed.
• Keep work area, tools, and equipment clean and organized.

• 5+ years of heavy equipment mechanic experience.
• Computer skills (Word, Excel).
• Strong communication and time‑management abilities.
• Willingness to travel out of state up to 60%.
• Experience with heavy diesel repair and maintenance.
• Experience with hydraulic and electrical repairs.
• Knowledge of fuel systems (diesel and gas).
• Ability to perform electrical diagnostics using a scanner.
• Welding experience.
• Experience with Ford 6.7 Diesel and GM 6.6 Duramax (preferred).
• Safety Inspection certification (preferred).
• Management experience (preferred).
• Class A CDL (highly preferred).
• Diesel mechanic certification (required).
• Paid based on experience.

• Driver's License – required.
• Diesel Mechanic Certification or equivalent experience.

USD $40.00 – $60.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
