Java Developer
Location: San Jose, CA (Locals only)
Duration: 6+ Months

Job Description:

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of software development experience
• BS in Computer Science or related degree required (MS preferred)
• Experience in developing high-performance, scalable, and highly available web services using J2EE and frameworks such as RESTEasy and Jersey
• Comfortable using application server frameworks (e.g., Tomcat & JBOSS)
• Knowledge of object-oriented design and design patterns, and programming skills
• Experience in designing, developing, and delivering software and/or platforms for use by other developers
• Strong advocate of good coding standards and use of coding tools (e.g., Sonar) to improve delivered code
• Good at identifying performance bottlenecks and using good coding patterns to avoid them
• Good understanding of web services and SOA-related standards (e.g., REST/OAuth/JSON and SOAP/WSDL)
• Excellent knowledge of programming languages, especially Java
• Proficiency with at least one scripting language (e.g., Perl, Python, Unix Shell Script)
• Knowledge of SQL or PL/SQL
• Excellent communication and writing skills

Desired

Skills:

• Familiarity with Java/J2EE technologies (e.g., JDBC, JSP, Spring MVC, JSTL, Struts, Hibernate, SOAP, RESTful)
• Familiarity with GIT, Mock, Continuous Integration systems (Hudson/Jenkins), and Bug Tracking (Jira) tools
• Proficiency with XML/XSL frameworks
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology for software development
