Software Engineer, Platform

We're looking for a Staff Software Engineer to drive significant technical impact in our Applications group. You'll partner with key stakeholders to build critical core platform services and support Flo Qast applications from Close Management to Compliance. This is an opportunity to join as a senior technical leader and shape the architecture and direction of our platform.

You’ll be responsible for architecture, functional specifications & design, generally helping set technical direction. Your work will directly impact other application teams and support our end users by greatly accelerating innovation at Flo Qast.

This role is hybrid 3X per week to our San Jose Office.

• Architect and Build:
  Design and implement core platform features that power Flo Qast’s applications & workflows
• Technical Leadership:
  Lead technical design discussions and establish engineering best practices across the team
• Product Partnership:
  Collaborate with product and design to shape the roadmap and deliver exceptional user experiences for accounting teams
• Mentorship:
  Guide and develop other engineers through code reviews, pairing sessions, and technical workshops
• System Excellence:
  Drive improvements in system reliability, performance, and developer experience
• Strategic Decisions:
  Own critical technical decisions that impact the entire platform architecture
• Customer Focus:
  Engage with customers and internal stakeholders to understand workflows and deliver solutions that transform Flo Qast applications
• Innovation:
  Explore and implement new technologies to strengthen core platform services

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of designing and driving complex technical projects
• Deep expertise in backend and frontend technologies like Go, Node.js, Type Script, React, Mongo
  
  DB, and AWS
• Experience designing and implementing scalable distributed systems serving enterprise customers
• Strong product sense and ability to balance technical excellence with business impact
• Track record of mentoring engineers and elevating team capabilities
• Experience working closely with product, UI/UX design, and cross‑functional teams
• Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and drive projects from conception to production
• Experience with API design and building developer‑friendly interfaces
• Understanding of security and compliance requirements for enterprise SaaS

• Experience in fintech, accounting software, or enterprise SaaS
• Familiarity with accounting workflows or ERP systems
• Background in building workflow automation tools

This job posting is for our Staff Software Engineer, the base pay range for position is $164,000 - $246,000. Compensation is not limited to base salary.
