OpportunityAdobe's Commerce Experiences engineering team powers the acquisition, retention and expansion experiences across our global business. These surfaces are the heartbeat of how customers purchase, upgrade, and engage with Adobe products.
As an Engineering Manager focused on Frontend Software Development, you will lead a team of outstanding engineers responsible for building world‑class, high‑scale, and high‑performance web applications. You will shape the technical vision, drive engineering excellence, and deliver customer‑centric features that ensure millions of customers worldwide have seamless purchasing and subscription experiences.
What you’ll do- Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of frontend engineers focused on building scalable, performant, and accessible ecommerce applications.
- Monitor and optimize application performance, making data‑driven decisions to improve user experience.
- Work with multi‑functional teams to build, develop, and implement world‑class, secure, and reliable customer journeys.
- Develop and apply a frontend technology strategy for checkout, paywall and post‑purchase experiences, using modern frameworks like React, Graph
QL, and Next.js. - Foster engineering innovation by setting coding norms, effective testing procedures, and seamless delivery pipelines.
- Coordinate with product managers to determine and prioritize features, ensuring we meet our ambitious goals.
- Inspire innovation and foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and high performance.
- Stay ahead of frontend trends and bring modern approaches—performance optimization, accessibility, personalization, experimentation—into Adobe's ecommerce experiences.
- Work closely with global teams to align on product vision, architecture, and roadmap delivery.
- 8+ years of frontend web development engineering experience with at least 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven track record of leading frontend teams to deliver highly available, customer‑facing applications at scale and a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences and continuous improvements in both products and processes.
- Deep expertise in modern frontend technologies:
React (required), Type Script, JavaScript (ES6+), CSS‑in‑JS, state management frameworks, responsive design and a strong understanding of web performance, security, accessibility (WCAG), and SEO principles. - Experience working with Graph
QL/REST and backend‑for‑frontend patterns in architectures. - Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS or Azure), CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and Dev Ops practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across design, product, and backend engineering teams.
- Proven ability to hire, coach, and develop top engineering talent.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $135,600—$275,400 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
