** This is a hybrid role; the selected candidate is expected to work at least 2 days per week from the HPE office in San Jose, CA.
**** Key Responsibilities
*** Develop and enhance features for the HPE Edge Connect Orchestrator web application supporting SD-WAN deployments.
* Design and build scalable backend services and APIs for orchestration, monitoring, and network management.
* Implement and integrate AI-driven workflows (“skills”) that interact with backend systems and data sources.
* Contribute to Copilot capabilities for use cases such as troubleshooting, documentation assistance, and analytics.
* Work with data platforms (e.g., analytics databases, telemetry systems) to enable real-time insights.
* Write and maintain unit, integration, and white-box tests to ensure quality and reliability.
* Participate in debugging, RCA, and performance optimization across backend and AI workflows
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, QA, product management) in a distributed environment.
* Contribute to design and architecture decisions with focus on scalability, performance, and security.
** Required Qualifications**
* ** This is a hybrid role; the selected candidate is expected to work at least 2 days per week from the HPE office in San Jose, CA.
*** 5+ years of experience in Java and/or Python-based backend software development.
* 5+ years of experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices-based architectures.
* 2+ years of hands-on experience building, integrating, or deploying AI/LLM-powered applications, Copilot solutions, or intelligent automation workflows.
* Experience with prompt engineering, Agentic AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI orchestration, and LLM evaluation techniques.
* Strong experience with database design and development using SQL and/or No

SQL technologies.
* Experience building scalable, cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or similar cloud platforms.
* Familiarity with modern web technologies including JavaScript, React, and Node.js.
* Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills in large-scale production environments.
