Pay Range: $85,000.00 - $ / year

Overview

Complete oversight of BME operations for large, complex sites and/or multiple sites to ensure service program efficiency and to satisfy the equipment support needs of the company.

The purpose of the BME Sr. Manager position is to develop, coordinate, and expand the BME program as necessary to ensure all aspects of service (internal and external) for all lab instrumentation and general lab equipment satisfy the quality and regulatory requirements and service needs for each lab, enabling operations to run efficiently, profitably, and with excellent quality.

Responsibilities
  • Plans, conducts, performs and executes laboratory experiments for GC-MS, LC-MS/MS for both defined and novel protocols. Reports status of assigned projects by preparing detailed reports and documentation that critically interprets and summarizes results from complex experiments within a specific project or technology area.
  • Effectively utilizes and applies advanced methods by maintaining knowledge of technological developments that may assist in the completion of an assignment or lead to novel ideas by reading current literature and attending scientific meetings and training.
  • The individual will be expected to generate, compile, analyze and evaluate analytical data for technical reports including regulatory submissions, SOPs, validation reports. The candidate will be encouraged to submit abstracts for posters/presentations at scientific meetings.
  • Identifies problems, investigates alternatives and recommends possible courses of action.
  • Able to troubleshoot and resolve technical difficulties.
  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks/projects.
  • Other responsibilities include working with infectious materials, supporting and complying with the company hazard waste handling practices.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience or strong understanding of various laboratory techniques including, but not limited to: sample preparation & extraction (i.e. precipitation, solid phase extraction) analyte quantitation using isotopically‑labeled internal standards, or familiarity with HPLC and mass spectrometry. Prior experience in enzymology/enzyme assay development, compound optimization, operation and troubleshooting of various GC‑MS, LC‑MS/MS platforms is a plus.

A successful candidate will be a self‑starter capable of performing experimental work. This professional will have a strong foundation in technical skills and has the ability to work independently and in collaboration with other team members—should be familiar with common data processing software (Excel, R, etc.) and should be able to present data in a meaningful manner.

Education
  • BS with 2‑3 years of related experience
  • MS with 1 year of related experience
  • PhD and one year Post Doc experience, or related.
  • Experience working in a biochemical genetics and chemistry laboratory setting is preferred.
