Union Construction Laborer – San Leandro branch. Daily dispatch from office. Must be a current member of the local Laborers union or willing to become a member. Requires post‑offer pre‑employment drug/alcohol screen and background check. Valid driver’s license with an insurable record needed to operate company vehicles. Willing to work nights, weekends, and travel to sites with overnight stays as required.

• Read and interpret job tickets, safety plans, and complete daily safety pre‑task plans.
• Follow construction plans and supervisor instructions.
• Prepare sites by removing debris and eliminating hazards.
• Load, unload, identify, and distribute building materials per project plans.
• Build or dismantle bracing, scaffolding, and temporary structures.
• Dig trenches, backfill holes.
• Assist with concrete and asphalt demolition using appropriate tools.
• Perform demolition of drywall, studs, ceilings, pipes, and conduits.
• Work cooperatively with other trades on the job site.
• Communicate clearly with dispatch and supervisors about job progress.
• Maintain a clean job site, securing tools and equipment daily.
• Identify and report safety hazards, taking corrective action.
• Adhere strictly to company safety and OSHA standards.

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3+ years of experience in construction or demolition.
• Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new technology.
• Demonstrated safe work practices and compliance with safety requirements.
• Reliable, punctual attendance.
• Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions.
• Professional communication skills with customers and coworkers.

Travel to project sites required.

Work outdoors at construction sites, with moments of indoor work. Exposed to loud noise from equipment. Protective gear required: hard hats, respirators, steel‑toed boots, safety glasses, etc. Temperature and weather vary by season.

Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Must lift up to 100 lb occasionally, 50 lb frequently, and 20 lb constantly. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
