Description
Technical specialist and primary customer support contact to diagnose and execute complex repairs to generators and components at the customer’s site.
We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in San Leandro, CA.

Job SummaryIn this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Completing repair activities on generators or components
- Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner
- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
- Maintain detailed records of service
- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
- Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
- Maintain own tools
- Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
- High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
- Advanced experience with electrical repair and maintenance.
- Proficient Diesel Engine experience.
- Advanced troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components.
- Setup, troubleshoot and repair basic paralleling generator systems.
- Understanding switch gear schematics.
- Ability to train Entry/Intermediate Technicians/Mechanics.
Must provide your own tools and must maintain DOT driving eligibility.
Service, troubleshoot and repair Cummins power generations equipment. Familiar with load banking, PM's, emissions controls, start up and commissioning new generators and transfer switches and paralleling. Service area is the San Francisco Bay area.
DOT Requirements- A current valid license is required for this role.
- This role requires a 5‑year motor vehicle report, free from major violations.
- This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). years driving experience.
- This role is subject to Department of Transportation regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use.
- Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older; applicant must be 21 years of age.
