Building Automation Systems Engineer III - HVAC at EMCOR Group, Inc.
OverviewEMCOR Group, Inc. is a full-service HVAC, building automation, chiller, and retrofit contractor dedicated to delivering high‑quality consulting services and customized energy solutions. The Systems Engineer III will coordinate control system planning, installation, programming, and commissioning, and will coach and mentor other project engineers.
Responsibilities- Develop and program a written sequence of operations based on mechanical drawings.
- Lead and schedule commissioning efforts.
- Actively participate in LEED commissioning and coordination meetings.
- Understand the design of mechanical equipment and systems including chiller, boiler, custom AHU, pumping, chilled water plants, clean room applications, and demand response.
- Design and implement complex electrical control circuits including hardwired interlocks and relay logic.
- Provide solutions for energy‑saving opportunities and potential scopes of work for control implementation.
- Perform training for Systems Engineer I and II.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent field experience.
- 10+ years of direct automation experience with control systems and programming.
- Working knowledge of at least three HVAC controls systems (preferably Delta, Distech, JCI or Andover).
- Knowledge of mechanical systems.
- Ability to interface with customers at a supervisory and management level.
- Engineering skills required include knowledge of electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and computer programming.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good computer skills, understanding of controls networking.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
$71 - $85 per hour
