Siren Opt helps manufacturers make better, safer, and more reliable micro- and nano-materials. These materials are the building blocks of critical sectors of the global economy such as batteries, computer chips, aircraft components, and power systems. But, surging material demand and growing complexity are pushing production to unprecedented scales and speeds, leaving manufacturers effectively flying blind. Small, undetected variations during production lead to wastage, lower performance, higher costs, and safety risks.
Siren Opt is changing this. Our manufacturing intelligence platform scans materials, revealing critical internal information without damaging them. Using a novel combination of cold atmospheric plasma, physics-informed machine learning, and predictive analytics, Siren Opt creates unique, real-time fingerprints that capture material signals no other method can access. These insights give manufacturers unprecedented visibility into how materials behave as they are made.
We turn hidden data into actionable intelligence to help manufacturers reduce variability and thus increase yield and performance. The technology can be deployed as a standalone tool or integrated directly into factory production lines. Siren Opt is currently deploying early versions of its platform with some of the largest industrial manufacturers in the world across North America, Europe, and Asia. Our first commercial product will be released in 2026.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to help develop, test, and validate Siren Opt’s plasma-based sensing platform for integration into advanced manufacturing environments. As an early-stage member of the Siren Opt team, you will have the opportunity to make a direct impact on next-generation material characterization technologies while helping build a strong technical foundation for a growing company.
The ideal candidate learns new concepts quickly and produces high-quality technical work with strong attention to documentation. You will apply sound engineering judgment to solve a wide range of technical challenges efficiently and creatively, often spanning multiple disciplines. A core part of this role is planning and executing experiments, analyzing results, and maintaining thorough documentation. Some problems may fall outside your core areas of expertise, making technical curiosity, hands‑on experimentation, and a self‑starting mindset critical for success.

In this role you will:- Support system-level design, integration, and validation of Siren Opt’s plasma-based sensing platform
- Work with a small, cross‑functional engineering team to research, develop, and validate new system concepts and experimental approaches
- Plan and execute experiments to characterize system performance and sensitivity to environmental and operational factors
- Analyze experimental data and maintain clear, well‑organized documentation of experimental work and results
- Contribute to technical design documentation, including requirements, specifications, test plans, schematics, and test reports
- Incorporate customer and application feedback into experimental studies and system design iterations
- Support on‑site installation, testing, and validation of Siren Opt instruments at customer sites as needed
- Domestic and international travel of approximately 5–10% may be required.
- B.S. in Engineering or Physics with 5+ years of relevant industry experience, M.S. with 2+ years, or Ph.D. with relevant hands‑on experience
- Experience developing automated metrology, inspection, or diagnostic systems through design, validation, deployment, and customer support phases
- Experience designing and executing structured experiments, including multi‑dimensional Design of Experiments (DoE)
