Responsibilities- Manage daily HR operations for a 100‑person organization across multiple programs and services
- Supervise, train, and mentor a team of 3 HR staff; provide support and backup as needed.
- Manage and perform core HR functions, including recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, performance management employee relations, leaves, workers’ compensation claims.
- Guide managers and staff on employment laws, internal policies, employee relations, and performance issues.
- Address sensitive and confidential employee relations and organization matters with tact, sound judgment and professionalism.
- Present an approachable and positive demeaner, and maintain an open‑door policy to be accessible to the HR team and provide excellent customer service to all staff.
- Ensure HR compliance by maintaining effective workflows, documentation, and internal controls.
- Partner with leadership on HR strategies, workforce planning, and organizational development.
- Create and maintain HR metrics and evaluate trends for the appropriate actions.
- Conduct or support audits, internal investigations, and training initiatives.
- Maintain vendor relationships and coordinate with payroll/accounting on employee data and transactions.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Degree in HR or related field. SPHR/PHR certification a plus.
- 5+ years hands‑on HR generalist experience, with 2 years supervising or leading others.
- Strong HR skills and knowledge of relevant federal, state and local employment laws and best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to present and facilitate meetings and trainings to a diverse audience.
- Creative problem solver and ability to anticipate needs and act proactively with minimal guidance or supervision.
