Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and team building; manage front‑end operations, oversee cash management, develop shift schedules, and conduct time‑management training.
- Oversee inventory issues, evaluate out‑of‑stocks, audit product quality, and ensure “date integrity.”
- Supervise, direct, and coach team members; assign duties, complete performance reviews, and make advancement and disciplinary decisions.
- Manage the in‑store training program; develop and deliver content to improve performance and store operations.
- Provide ongoing developmental opportunities, including individualized and group training, coaching, and advancement pathways.
- Participate in recruitment: evaluate applicants, conduct interviews, hire, and oversee training.
- Support the Store Manager in sales‑oriented team management and training.
- Promote two‑way communication with customers and staff; develop programs to improve customer goodwill, staff interaction, and morale.
- Direct work assignments for front‑end and center‑store teams; provide hands‑on support to achieve store‑level strategy.
- Drive customer focus, support Customer Connection programs, and hold associates accountable for excellent service.
- Assist in achieving sales goals; track and analyze sales and profitability data and make recommendations to control expenses.
- Direct team work in product re‑calls, store cleanliness, maintenance, and serve as the point of contact during regulatory inspections.
- Ensure compliance with company sanitation, safety, security, and other policies.
- Excellent leadership/team building skills.
- Strong communication (written and verbal).
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, coaching/mentoring, and training skills.
- Proven abilities in decision making, delegation, and negotiation.
- Strong organization, administration, and financial skills.
- Fundamental understanding of labor contracts.
- Knowledge of store operations, financials, hazardous materials, food safety rules, employment law, union contractual agreement language, interview techniques, and hiring practices.
Four‑year college degree (or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience). Minimum two years of related experience.
Physical & Competencies- Basic office environment: ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull, and lift objects.
