Job Summary

• Assists professional nursing personnel in providing patient care in the assigned area, including activities of daily living, personal care, emotional support, and clinical skills under RN direction.

Essential Functions

• Consults with and keeps supervisor informed of unit activities, needs, and problems related to patient care.
• Provides general nursing care: positioning, lifting, turning, using special equipment, assisting in bed pan/urinal/commode use, ambulating, pre/post operative care, applying anti‑embolic stockings, bed baths, oral/hair/back care, changing linens, cleaning bedside tables and standing areas.
• Takes and records vital signs and intake/output accurately, documenting in a timely manner.
• Prepares patient rooms and beds for admission and transfer, ensuring all necessary equipment is present and maintaining cleanliness, ventilation, and lighting.
• Assists in admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, handling patient belongings and personal property.
• Answers patient call lights, telephone, and paging system responses.
• Under RN direction, performs routine treatments such as enemas and heat/cold appliance applications.
• Releases, removes, and reapplies restraints under RN direction.
• Ensures patient is properly positioned and aligned.
• Assists RN and/or LVN/LPN with complex patient treatments.
• Serves and removes patient meal trays promptly and assists with feeding, including opening milk containers and cutting food.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Regular attendance and good punctuality.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Organizes tasks, develops action plans, sets priorities, and functions under stressful situations.
• Maintains good working relationships within the department and with other departments.
• Travel requirement approximately 0%.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Salary Range

$21.00 - $22.82 per hour

Qualifications

• Education
  :
  Completion of nursing assistant course.
• Licenses/Certifications
  :
  Current Nursing Assistant Certification, BLS Certification.
• Experience
  :
  Minimum six months in an acute or long‑term care facility.
