Quality Assurance Technician, Sauce - 2nd Shift

We’re hiring a QA Technician who is proactive, collaborative, and forward‑thinking to support our new sauce production line. In this hands‑on role, you’ll help ensure our products meet the highest standards of food safety and quality. From supporting the positive release process to assisting with calibrations and record‑keeping, you’ll help keep our systems reliable, compliant, and audit‑ready—all while supporting the maintenance of GFSI‑SQF standards.

As a member of our first‑ever sauce production team, you’ll contribute to the startup and qualification of new equipment and processes while gaining exposure to the technical side of food manufacturing. With curiosity, adaptability, and attention to detail, you’ll help build the foundation of quality practices for a brand‑new business unit  you’re ready to grow with our people‑first organization and make a real impact, we can’t wait to meet you!

Success

Factors (First 12–24 Months)
  • Quality Systems & Technical Support:
    You supported daily quality operations through GMP inspections, sensory evaluations, environmental microbiological sampling, and coordinating third‑party lab testing. You assisted with positive release by reviewing results, maintaining records, flagging anomalies, and escalating issues. You contributed to equipment calibration and supported Quality Incident Reports (QIRs) by collecting data, assisting root‑cause investigations, and tracking corrective actions. You participated in the validation of new sauce equipment and sanitation methods (CIP/COP), and supported monitoring for perishables, allergens, and rework—ensuring every batch met Torani’s safety and quality standards.
  • Food Safety:
    You strengthened Torani’s food safety culture by helping maintain an audit‑ready site. You supported internal and external audits by preparing documentation, answering questions, and assisting with corrective actions. You also reinforced GMPs by supporting training and reminders that kept quality top of mind for everyone on the floor. You acted as a secondary SQF practitioner.
  • Communication:
    You enhanced communication on the sauce line by leading GMP trainings, sharing quality KPIs, and maintaining clear documentation. Your updates helped keep teams aligned on expectations, progress, and improvement areas. You also modeled safe behaviors, promoting a strong culture of safety for both food and team members.
  • Continuous Improvement & Sauce Startup:
    You played a key role in commissioning and qualifying the sauce line by supporting trials, collecting data, and verifying processes. As part of Torani’s operational excellence journey, you helped establish and model new ways of working. You quickly adapted to evolving standards, collaborated with the QA Supervisor and cross‑functional teams to refine practices, and suggested improvements based on daily observations.

    Your curiosity, flexibility, and solution‑oriented mindset helped build a strong foundation for continuous improvement in a new business unit.
  • Line Support:
    You became a trusted quality partner by building strong relationships with operators and learning every process, role, and piece of equipment. Your consistent floor presence reinforced GMPs, supported procedure adherence, and provided real‑time guidance. You promptly observed, documented, and escalated issues to ensure quick resolution and protect product quality.

What you’ll bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical/scientific discipline (Food, Physical, or Biological Sciences preferred)
  • 1‑3 years experience working in a food manufacturing environment
  • PCQI/HACCP certification preferred
  • Experience with a large ERP (i.e., Oracle) strongly preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds continually throughout shift
  • Stand, walk, bend, twist for up to 8 hours
  • Monday – Friday, 2nd Shift, plus overtime as needed
  • Flexibility to work various shifts occasionally & ability to work overtime and on weekends as the needs arise
Pay Range

$27.00 – $31.70 per hour
