  • Work with and mentor student organizations and competition teams;
  • Collaborate with related disciplines, industry partners, and communities;
  • Pursue professional development that includes scholarly activities

Salary commensurate with education and experience of the individual selected. Anticipated hiring range: $99,996 to $110,004.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A master's degree in construction or a construction-related field from an accredited institution.
  • 5 years of relevant professional experience in the United States construction industry or comparable international experience. Individuals with an earned doctorate in construction or a construction-related field shall receive credit for the equivalent of two years of professional construction experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, work cooperatively with students, faculty, staff, and administrators from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds, conduct themselves professionally, and perform appropriate service functions at the department, college, and university levels.
  • Specialization in a scholarly area that addresses topics applicable to the construction industry and demonstrated ability and commitment to pursue scholarly activities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the written and oral use of the English language.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A PhD or doctoral degree in construction or a construction-related field.
  • Demonstrated record of scholarly activities that contribute to the field of construction management.
  • Professional certifications or licenses related to the construction industry.
  • 3 years of relevant professional experience in project management or a supervisory capacity.
  • Experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.
  • A teaching specialization in one of the following areas, but not limited to: industrial construction, defense/marine facilities, renewable energy systems, MEP building systems, and data centers.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS

The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

The two-semester sequence will constitute the regular academic year appointment. Faculty may also be eligible to teach in the third semester for additional compensation, subject to departmental needs and University policy.
