This pool is for temporary, part-time lecturer positions in the Experience Industry Management Department within the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences at Cal Poly. Appointments are determined by need during the 2025/26 academic year and may be offered on short notice.
- Teaching undergraduate courses in resort and lodging management; hospitality, conventions, & meeting management; special event planning; festival & event management; leadership & diverse groups; professionalism & customer experiences; experiential marketing; financing recreation, parks & tourism; and introduction to the experience industry.
- Provide high-quality instruction in assigned courses as determined by department needs.
- Maintain professional standards and contribute to the student learning experience.
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Parks, Leisure Studies or related field.
- Preferred: MS in Recreation, Parks, Tourism or related field; experience in hospitality management, event planning, convention management, experiential marketing, recreation leadership, risk & facility management, grants and resources development, environmental education, or finance.
- Experience working with diverse populations and fostering an inclusive environment is preferred.
- Conditional offer followed by a background check; may require satisfactory completion before start.
- Cal Poly will not sponsor H-1B visas for this position.
- Mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act; compliance with CSU Executive Order 1083 required.

The Experience Industry Management Department offers a B.S. in Recreation, Parks, & Tourism Administration and an M.S. in Agriculture with a specialization in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Management, with various study areas and an emphasis on promoting healthy lifestyles and memorable experiences.
