public health, part-time lecturer poolthe kinesiology & public health department in the bailey college of science and mathematics at cal poly, san luis obispo is seeking applications for the public health part‑time lecturer pool. Appointments are available as determined by need during fall, winter, and/or spring quarter of the 2025-26 academic year. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications, experience, and time base.
responsibilities may include teaching undergraduate public health major, and general education courses. Assignments may include a combination of the following:
- general education courses in healthy living, multicultural health, and women's health.
- first aid & cpr; physical activity & wellness courses.
- public health undergraduate courses such as introduction to public health, epidemiology, drug education, health behavior theory, health education for teachers, injury prevention, medical terminology, media & technology in health promotion, public health internship, research methods in public health settings, stress and chronic disease, work‑site health promotion.
- laboratory courses in epidemiology, research methods in public health settings, health promotion program planning & evaluation; obesity prevention & treatment, stress and chronic disease.
initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the lecturer a or b rank. As of july 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:
