Part-Time Lecturer Pool - Animal Science (AY 25/26) at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) is a pool of part-time lecturers with positions determined by need during the academic year. Appointments are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate Animal Science courses in animal production and management, and discipline-specific support courses such as nutrition, reproduction, physiology, behavior, embryology, etc.
- Required:
A Bachelor of Science with considerable experience in animal science or related discipline. - Preferred: A Master’s in Animal Science or related discipline.
- Lecturer A: $5,507-$6,677
- Lecturer B: $6,221-$13,224
- Lecturer C: $6,825-$14,523
- Lecturer D: $8,593-$15,211
- Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may result in the withdrawal of the offer of employment. An individualized assessment will be performed if there are applicable conviction histories.

The Animal Sciences Department, within the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences, serves over 850 students across two majors and operates livestock production and management facilities, including a farm of about 6,000 acres and multiple specialized centers and laboratories. Graduates are prepared for careers in animal industries, allied professions, and graduate studies.
