kinesiology, part-time lecturer pool

the kinesiology & public health department in the bailey college of science and mathematics at cal poly, san luis obispo is seeking applications for the kinesiology and physical activity part-time lecturer pool. Appointments are available as determined by need during fall, winter, and/or spring quarters of the 2025-26 academic year. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications, experience, and time base.

responsibilities may include teaching undergraduate kinesiology, general education, and/or physical activity courses. Assignments may include a combination of the following:

• physical activity courses in weight training, yoga, pilates, group fitness, swimming, jogging, fitness walking, ultimate disc, and various team & individual sports;
• general education psychology of injury; sport and gender; sports, media & american popular culture.
• kinesiology undergraduate courses such as adapted physical activity, first aid & cpr; functional anatomy, managing exercise & health programs, motor development; orientation to kinesiology, personal and group fitness instruction, school pe and health methods.
• laboratory courses in adapted physical activity, biomechanics, electrocardiography, exercise physiology, exercise testing and prescription, motor learning and control, and introduction to research methods in kinesiology.

initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the lecturer a or b rank. As of july 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:
