Appointments from the Part‑time Pool are temporary and are often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice. The Industrial Technology, Packaging, and Entrepreneurship Area in the Orfalea College of Business at Cal Poly is creating a pool of eligible part‑time Entrepreneurship lecturers for possible teaching assignments during the Summer, Fall, Winter, and/or Spring Quarters of the 2025‑2026 academic year.

Assignments will be contingent upon budget and enrollments.

Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A rank. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Entrepreneurship or a closely related discipline. Evidence of current engagement in the professional field through ongoing work, training, or alignment with industry trends. Significant and relevant industry experience demonstrating depth of knowledge and practical application in entrepreneurship. Demonstrated ability to effectively teach undergraduate entrepreneurship courses, particularly those that emphasize experiential learning.
