Overview

Part-Time Lecturer Pool - Construction Management (AY 25/26). This is a temporary, part-time instructional faculty pool for the Construction Management Department. Possible part-time lecturer positions may be available as determined by need during the 2025-26 academic year. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate Construction Management courses.

Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Salary Notes

Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:

  • Lecturer A: $5,507-$6,677
  • Lecturer B: $6,221-$13,224
  • Lecturer C: $6,825-$14,523
  • Lecturer D: $8,593-$15,211

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching, along with the ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary settings.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree and relevant professional and/or teaching experience are preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, inclusive environment; relevant work experience and professional capabilities are valued.
Special Conditions
  • Mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act; comply with CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
  • Background check required after conditional offer; satisfactory completion before start of employment. An individualized assessment will be conducted if there is a criminal history.
  • Cal Poly will not sponsor an H-1B visa for this position.
  • Current employees offered on-campus positions may require a background check if mandated by law or deemed sensitive.
