Job Overview
The Finance Area in the Orfalea College of Business at Cal Poly is seeking part‑time lecturers for teaching assignments in investments, real estate finance, fixed income securities, corporate finance, and international financial management during the Fall and/or Spring semesters of the 2026‑27 academic year, which begins August 17, 2026. Positions are temporary and are filled based on need, funding, and class availability.
Responsibilities- Deliver instruction in assigned finance courses to undergraduate and graduate students.
- Prepare and update course materials, assignments, and assessments in a timely manner. l
- Maintain accurate student records and provide timely feedback on performance.
- Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum review, and other academic activities as required.
- Master's degree or higher in business or a related discipline.
- Strong teaching record and current expertise in professional field of finance.
- Proficiency in written and oral English is required.
- Must reside in California at the time of hire and during the entire appointment.
- Completion of a satisfactory background check, including a criminal records check, is required before employment can commence.
- All appointed lecturers are considered mandated reporters under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with CSU Executive Order 1083.
- Cal Poly will not sponsor H‑1B visas for this position.
