* The Role:
** Entegris is currently seeking a
** Sr Control Systems Engineer
** to join our Advanced Purity Solutions Division. This position will be at our
** San Luis Obispo, CA
** this role, you will be responsible for
** designing, developing, and implementing advanced control systems and automation solutions for industrial processes**. This role involves leading projects, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and optimizing system performance to improve efficiency and reliability.

* What You’ll Do:
**** Design & Development:
*** Develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for industrial automation.
* Create electrical schematics and control panel layouts using CAD tools.
* Design new systems from scratch with functional process design
** Programming & Integration:
*** Program and troubleshoot PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), HMIs, and motion control systems.
* Integrate sensors, actuators, and instrumentation into automated systems.
* Troubleshoot, making changes to existing systems on production floor (hardware & software)
* Support Field Service Engineers in commissioning & post-sales activities
** Project Leadership:
*** Lead automation projects from concept through commissioning.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, software).
* Leadership/mentorship of other team members
* Attending multi-functional meetings, representing Team
** Testing & Commissioning:
*** Perform FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing).
* Ensure systems meet performance, safety, and compliance standards.
** Optimization & Maintenance:
*** Analyze system performance and implement improvements.
* Provide technical support and training for maintenance teams.
** Documentation:
*** Prepare detailed technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, control logic, and user manuals.
* Any other duties as assigned.
** What We Seek:
*** Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or mechatronics (Masters degree preferred).
* 7+ years’ experience in industrial environments as controls engineer with progressive career growth.
* Strong experience with PLC programming (Rockwell, Siemens), SCADA systems, and industrial networks (Ether Net/IP, Modbus, Profibus).
* Proficiency in electrical design software (AutoCAD, EPLAN).
* Knowledge of safety standards (NFPA 79, IEC 61131, OSHA).
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Experience in robotics, motion control, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
* Familiarity with MES and ERP integration.
* Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems desired.
* Control Systems PE will be a plus.
* Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
* Strong documentation skills.
