Job Description:
Help design the next generation of precision measurement technology.
At Crystal Engineering, our products are trusted by professionals who depend on accurate, reliable measurements in some of the world's most demanding industrial environments. We're looking for an Electrical Engineer who enjoys bringing ideas to life, from concept and prototype through testing, certification, and production.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in developing industry-leading instrumentation, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and solving complex engineering challenges involving electronics, firmware, wireless technologies, and hazardous-location certifications. If you thrive in a hands-on environment where you can see your designs become real products, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do:
As a member of our engineering team, you will lead and contribute to the development of innovative electronic products while balancing performance, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Design, develop, test, and validate analog and digital electronic circuits and subsystems for new and existing products.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, including project plans, requirements, test protocols, and validation reports.
- Build and integrate electrical and mechanical prototypes, supporting projects throughout the entire product lifecycle from concept through production release.
- Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and product teams to deliver robust, customer-focused solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions through engineering change and continuous improvement processes.
- Lead certification efforts for products requiring approvals such as hazardous location, Bluetooth, EMC, RF, and other regulatory compliance standards.
- Plan, track, and communicate project progress while helping ensure deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
- Support product enhancements, cost-reduction initiatives, and manufacturing optimization efforts.
- Contribute wherever needed to help advance Crystal Engineering's mission, products, and customers.
What Makes You Successful:
You are a curious problem solver who enjoys both hands-on engineering and strategic project leadership. You are equally comfortable at a workbench debugging a circuit, reviewing schematic designs, or presenting technical findings to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- Five or more years of electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing or product development environment.
- Strong proficiency with Altium Designer for schematic capture and circuit design.
- Experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting both analog and digital circuits.
- Understanding of PCB layout principles and manufacturing considerations.
- Experience working with embedded systems and microcontroller firmware.
- Knowledge of EMC, RF interference.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to useAItools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs
Preferred Experience:
- Product certification experience involving hazardous locations, wireless technologies, Bluetooth, EMC, or regulatory compliance.
- Experience developing products for industrial, instrumentation, controls, or highly regulated environments.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems and product integration.
- Experience with measurement technologies involving pressure and temperature instrumentation.
Tools & Technologies You'll Use:
- Altium Designer
- Oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, environmental chambers, and other advanced test equipment
- Precision measurement equipment including calipers and micrometers
- Prototype assembly and manufacturing toolsli>
- Microsoft Office Suite and engineering documentation systems
