Job Summary

The Academic Employment Analyst provides oversight and leadership of the appointment and employment processes for Unit 3 and Unit 11 members. The incumbent interprets and implements the provisions of all employment‑related directives, policies, contracts, and agreements, and works closely with personnel analysts to ensure appointments are processed in a timely manner.

Department Summary

Academic Personnel supports faculty, staff, and administration regarding implementation of the Unit 3 and Unit 11 Collective Bargaining Agreements. The unit manages all aspects of faculty recruitment, appointments, evaluation, and personnel matters.

Key Qualifications
  • Ability to be self‑directed and to independently research and propose resolutions to complex organizational problems, projects, and goals, with appropriate consultation and within prescribed timelines.
  • Excellent communication and persuasion skills; ability to effectively communicate information in a clear and understandable manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear and concise communications, e.g. business process guides, policy documents.
  • Ability to interpret, communicate and apply policies and procedures and use independent judgment for unique complex situations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to set own priorities to coordinate multiple assignments with fluctuating and time‑sensitive deadlines.
Education and Experience

Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience. Additional experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year‑for‑year basis. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year‑for‑year basis.

Salary and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Range: $68,508 - $80,268 annually

Classification Range: $63,288 - $92,208 annually

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Anticipated Hiring Range referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Classification Range may be broader than what the University anticipates paying for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
