Full Charge Bookkeeper
Robert Half is partnering with an established professional services organization in San Marcos to find an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper who can take ownership of the company's day-to-day accounting! This is a hands-on role for someone who can manage the books from start to finish, maintain reliable financial reporting, and serve as a trusted resource for leadership.
Unlike a position focused primarily on invoice entry, this opportunity requires someone who can independently manage reconciliations, oversee AP and AR, coordinate payroll records, and help ensure the books are accurate through month-end close. The right candidate is proactive, organized, and comfortable working with limited supervision.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping and maintain the general ledger.
- Oversee accounts payable, including invoice coding, payment scheduling, and vendor reconciliations.
- Manage accounts receivable, customer invoicing, cash receipts, and collection follow-up.
- Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries.
- Coordinate payroll processing and record payroll-related transactions accurately.
- Maintain employee expense and company credit card records.
- Prepare monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries.
- Review account balances and investigate discrepancies before closing the books.
- Manage month-end close activities and maintain supporting schedules.
- Assist with annual budgets, tax preparation, 1099 reporting, and CPA requests.
- Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records.
- Recommend improvements to accounting procedures, documentation, and internal controls.
- Provide management with timely updates regarding cash flow, outstanding receivables, and upcoming payments.
