Position Description

Department of Finance and Economics seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/nontenured faculty to teach in Finance, Economics, and/or Business Law. For information about the College visit the Department of Finance and Economics website.

Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based upon student demand on a semester-by-semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental/school/program need.

Successful candidates may teach at TXST’s campus in San Marcos, TX; TXST’s campus in Round Rock, TX;
Dallas College in Dallas, TX;
Lone Star College in The Woodlands, TX;
San Jacinto College in Houston, TX; or online, depending on the needs of the academic department.

This posting is for the fall 2025, spring 2026 and summer 2025/2026 semesters. Please note that this posting is not intended to convey that such a need currently exists. Applicants applying for a pool faculty position will be available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case the need arises.

Positions are subject to availability of funds.

Required Qualifications

Specific educational requirements vary by position, but a minimum of a Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching field is generally required.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous teaching experience is preferred.
