The Department of Social Work at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer to teach MSW 661
- Social Work in Healthcare. The course is a 3-unit class, has one 3-hour class each week of the 15-week semester, and is taught in a hybrid format (half of the courses will be online and the others are in-person at the San Marcos campus).
Roles and responsibilities of social workers as part of an interdisciplinary health care team. Culturally competent social work in acute, ambulatory, preventive, long-term, and palliative care settings. Ethical dilemmas in social work in healthcare.
Minimum qualifications- A Master of Social Work
- Five (5) years of post-MSW related experience
- Two years of applicable practice experience in health care and/or medical settings.
- LCSW licensure
- Per the California State University's Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.
- A doctoral degree in Social Work or in a closely related field.
- Experience in teaching classes and instructional methodology.
- Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community as it relates to teaching and, as applicable, service.
- Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per full-time month
The salary schedule information for the Lecturer – Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges:
- CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A - AY: $5,507 –$6,677 per full-time month
The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
