The Ultrasound Technician is responsible for conducting neurovascular and other sonographic exams on patients under the direct orders of a physician. The Technician is accountable at all times for patient safety.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Know Ultrasound Technician scope of practice and work within it, accountable at all times to an attending physician.
- Prepare exam rooms and patients for ultrasound examinations; maintain ultrasound equipment and machinery; notify supervisor immediately of equipment defects.
- Perform an adequate time-out period, verifying that the procedure to be performed will be performed on the correct patient for the correct study.
Education and Experience
- Vascular Ultrasound technician education or other related education either in progress or completed.
- TCD experience preferred.
- RVT preferred.
- Healthcare experience required.
- Furnish proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
Skills and Abilities
- Self-motivated and desire to learn and grow in healthcare.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers and payors.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask efficiently and effectively.
- Strong commitment to actively supporting an ethical working environment.
- Strong knowledge of computer-based systems such as Excel, Word, and the Internet with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Per-diem or Part-time.
- Monday - Friday.
