Production Supervisor

Sumitomo Electric Interconnect Products, Inc., a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is looking for a Production Supervisor role in San Marcos, CA (North San Diego Area).

This position will lead the Manufacturing Department and/or one of its operating shifts in a supervisory capacity. This person will be responsible for the safety, organization, administration and performance of the department and/or shift they are assigned to. They will report to the Manufacturing Manager and work with internal and external department staff to execute the department tasks and meet established goals.

This person will also be responsible to the adherence and application of all company policies and programs both general to SEIP and specific to the department, as well as the enforcement of those policies.

Duties include the following(other duties maybe assigned):

• Enforceandensurethat Safetyand Environmentalrequirementsandpracticesarebeing  met by Manufacturing employees.
• Enforceandensurethatthe Qualitysystemrequirementsarebeingexecutedbythe Manufacturing Department.
• Develop and maintain department documents relating to the Quality system.
• Manageandcreateproductionworkschedule,whichincludestheassignmentof personnel, scheduling of assets and coordination with Lead Operators.
• Maintaindepartmentperformancemetricsthatsupport thestatedbusiness goals.
• Responsiblefordevelopmentofcorrectiveactionstoaddressdeficienciesreportedin Safety and Quality.
• Providetechnicalandadministrativesupportto Lead Operatorstotroubleshootissuesand  work with support departments like Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality.
• Responsiblefordepartment’sdevelopmentandmaintenanceofworkareaorganization and housekeeping.
• Workwithserviceandfrontofficedepartmentsondutiestosupportscheduleattainment, continuous improvement and product development.
• Leadandfacilitatecontinuousimprovement activities.
• Manageattendanceperformanceandvacation approvals.
• Administerandmanagethetraininganddevelopmentof employees.
• Responsibleforevaluationofoperator performance insupportofbusiness metrics.
• Conductandcoordinatedisciplinaryactions asnecessarywith
  
  Human Resources.
• Executepurchaserequisitionsforconsumablesanddepartmentpurchased items.
• MaintaintheQMS as applicable to assignment.

• Minimumof aHigh School diploma.
• Minimum5yearsof experienceinamanufacturing environment.
• Minimum3yearsofexperienceinsupervisoryandleadershippositionsover manufacturing operations.
• Musthaveamechanical background.
• Intermediatelevelofexperiencewith Microsoft Office (Excel,Word,PowerPoint,and Outlook) required.
• Mustbedetailoriented,abletomulti-task,andhavestrongorganizationaland communication skills.
• Mustbeaself-starterandaleaderwithateam-oriented philosophy.

• Associatedegreeor higher.
• Experiencewiththeequipmentandprocessesusedtomanufacture Heat Shrinkable  Tubing or an equivalent plastic industry experience
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing.
• Formaltrainingin Supervisor leadership andtimemanagement.

• This job operates in a professional office and manufacturing environment. This role routinelyusesstandardofficeequipmentsuchascomputers,phones,photocopiers,filing cabinets and fax machines.
• Mustbeabletowear Personal Protective Equipmentsuchas Safety Shoes ,Glasses,and Hearing protection.
• Mustbecapable ofoperatingaforklift,and/or other powered material handling devices.
• Mustbeable to participate in a Radiation safety program.
• Upto 5% travel required.
