Position: Rector – Parish of Neil’s Harbour with Ingonish, Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island

Join us in leading our mission to connect community to Christ.

The Parish of Neil’s Harbour with Ingonish is seeking a Rector to serve two welcoming and committed Anglican congregations along Cape Breton’s spectacular Cabot Trail.

Our two historic churches are located in the coastal communities of Ingonish and Neil’s Harbour, surrounded by the natural beauty of Cape Breton Highlands National Park, the Atlantic Ocean, and vibrant rural communities.

We are a parish that values faith, tradition, community, and service. Our ministry includes Sunday worship, pastoral care, Bible study, community outreach, nursing-home and hospital ministry, and participation in important community events.

We are looking for a priest who:

  • Loves God and loves people.
  • Values Anglican worship and liturgical tradition while connecting the Gospel to everyday life.
  • Is a gifted and accessible preacher who speaks in plain, relevant language.
  • Is approachable, compassionate, and a good listener.
  • Can lead collaboratively, affirming the gifts and contributions of others.
  • Is willing to become part of the wider community and build meaningful relationships beyond the church.
  • Has a heart for pastoral care, particularly for those who are sick, elderly, grieving, or alone.
  • Is comfortable with technology, social media, and preparing basic Sunday service materials.

The parish is supported by two Licensed Lay Ministers and a non-stipendiary Associate Priest, and our two congregations work together through a Parish Council.

We offer a unique opportunity to serve and shepherd a committed rural parish family in one of the most beautiful parts of Canada.

If you are a priest who is looking for a ministry where community, relationships, worship, and pastoral care are at the heart of parish life, we would love to hear from you.

Come and join us as we connect community to Christ.
