General PurposeThe Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets customers, treats fellow associates with respect, follows company best‑practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The role requires performing a range of functions in all areas of the store as business needs require, including additional tasks as requested to support customer service and operational goals.
EssentialFunctions
- Prioritizes safety and practices safe behaviors in all activities.
- Maintains awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure environment; keeps egress clear and reports unsafe conditions.
- Treats all customers and associates with respect and courtesy; greets customers with eye contact, a smile, and a friendly hello and thanks.
- Assists customers at the register and throughout the store, answering questions politely and knowledgeably.
- Provides prompt and efficient responses to customer service calls and handles issues courteously, escalating to store leadership when needed.
- Represents and supports the company brand at all times.
- Performs cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, disinfecting high‑touch areas) to maintain merchandise, customer, and team areas.
- Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the company dress code.
- Performs daily assigned sizing and recovery to keep the store neat, organized, and well merchandised.
- Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandising items per presentation guidelines and maintaining brand familiarity.
- Understands the Loss Prevention Awareness program, the Shortage Highway, and merchandise protection standards.
- Demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions; safeguards confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise.
- Follows all Mark‑Out‑of‑Stock policies, properly processes each piece, and notifies store leadership for approvals.
- Adheres to cash, check, charge‑card, and refund procedures; maintains accuracy when handling bankable tenders.
- Executes store best practices with a sense of urgency to maximize productivity and minimize steps and touches in workflow.
