Base pay range: $4,611 - $6,718 per month
Job OverviewThe University Police Department is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for the university community of Cal State San Marcos. The department provides a 24‑hour communication center staffed by Police Dispatchers. Police Dispatchers perform initial caller interrogation to determine the appropriate level of service needed in emergency situations and allocate appropriate personnel and resources to incidents. They initiate fire, medical, and non‑emergency responses and coordinate with allied agencies.
Dispatchers report to the Lieutenant and work under the direction of the Police Sergeant.
This full‑time, non‑exempt position is eligible for permanent status after successful completion of the probationary period. It includes benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave, and 14 paid holidays.
