Job Duties
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler.
- Receive and process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
- Deliver product by car and then to the customer’s door.
- Deliver flyers and door hangers.
- Operate all equipment.
- Prepare product.
Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets company standards.
Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
Orientation and training are provided on the job.
Communication SkillsAbility to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers to process orders over the phone and in person.
Essential Functions & SkillsMath proficiency: add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use a calculator) and provide correct monetary change.
Strong verbal, written, and telephone skills for taking and processing orders.
Excellent motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to make rapid and accurate precise movements.
Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Navigation skills: read a map, locate addresses within a designated delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain including multi‑story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying product.
Work ConditionsExposures to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing other outside tasks.
In‑store temperatures range from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F+ in some work areas, with sudden changes in temperature while inside and outside.
Fumes from food odors and exposure to cornmeal dust.
Cramped quarters in the walk‑in cooler; hot surfaces/tools up to 500°F or higher; sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
Standing is the primary work position; walking surfaces include tile, linoleum, and short distances. The role involves lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying large items, pushing trays on dollies, climbing stairs or ladders, stooping/bending, crouching/squatting, and reaching above 72 inches as needed.
Deliveries may require navigating five or more flights of stairs and carrying pizzas, sides, and beverages while walking and climbing.
Drivers must travel between the store and the delivery vehicle and from the vehicle to the customer’s location.
